Posted: (2 days ago) Oct 12, 2012  · In PowerShell using the AD modules (like Get-ADGroup), use the -LDAPFilter parameter. In dsquery * use the -filter parameter. I also find I can filter in ADUC. I select Find, Advanced, then select "group" objects, then parameter "name", then select "Is (exactly)". Strangely, it then works when I enter the *prgm* for the value.
